Metal for Meals | Metal para alimentos
Our next Metal for Meals drive to benefit our food pantry will be October 2-3, 2026: Friday 6–8 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m.–noon.
Turn your scrap metal into Metal for Meals!
It’s amazing how much scrap metal we throw away on a daily basis. Instead of paying a trash hauler to dump your scrap in a landfill, we can “turn your trash into cash”. Metal for Meals helps to fund the community food pantry at St. Mary Church on the near west side of Grand Rapids.
This Metal for Meals food pantry fundraiser recycles metal: copper, aluminum, iron, steel, lead, wire, brass, etc. Unusable household items like washing machines, dryers, rakes, garden tools, irons, siding, bikes, grills, tin cans, file cabinets, tire rims, microwaves, bed frames, wire, pipes, machinery, motors, etc., can all be donated to this great cause.
Clean out your garage or your basement and bring in any scrap metal objects you have lying around to the church parking lot (at 420 Second St. NW). We even have people available to help unload items from your vehicle.
Parishioners can even call the office at 616.459.7390 to request help with something you can’t bring yourself (within a limited range only).
This is a great way to help others with your spring cleaning!
Our spring 2027 drive will be April 23-24.
Metal para Alimentos: campaña de reciclaje de chatarra
Se reciben cosas de metal para recaudar fondos para la despensa de comida.
Nuestra semi anual colección de metales para beneficio de nuestra despensa de alimentos será el viernes, el 2 de octubre, 2026, 6pm—8pm y el sábado, el 3 de octubre, 8:30am a 12pm. Tendremos un contenedor en el estacionamiento (420 Second St. NW) para recibir los metales chatarra. Podemos recibir los metales chatarra (cobre, aluminio, hierro, acero, plomo, alambre, latón, etc.) o cualquier cosa que no funciona y usted ya no necesite y que este hecha de metal (lavadoras, secadoras, rastrillos, herramientas de jardín, planchas, revestimientos, bicicletas viejas, parrillas, latas, archivadores, llantas de neumáticos, microondas, marcos de cama, alambres, tuberías, maquinaria, motores, etc.).
Puede llamar a la oficina al 616.459.7390 si necesita ayuda con algo que usted mismo no pueda traer porque sea voluminoso o pesado.
La campaña del primavera de 2027 será el 23-24 de abril.
