Prayer of Peace in the spirit of Taizé, Monday, August 12, 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary Church, Grand Rapids.
In the face of violence and suffering, we are wise to root our actions and reactions in prayer. Personal prayer, prayer with family, and prayer with our faith community are not empty gestures but powerful catalysts for our actions. Let us come together in prayer, rekindle the light of Christ among us and carry it more brightly into the world.
The Prayer of Peace is musical prayer in the spirit of Taizé (pronounced “teh-ZAY”). The prayer is ecumenical, accessible and contemplative, with ample silence and simple, short, repetitive songs that foster meditation.
